Escape or Support - The NEW evolution Portable Pylon Anchor was designed to support the bottom end of the sloped guide cable supporting a Rollgliss Emergency Escape Sloped Descent Device (115' or 200', high or low speed models). Although originally developed for the Oil and Gas industry for escape from drilling and service rigs, it can also be used in a similar manner to support the bottom end of sloped escape lines from silos, cranes or buildings in an emergency or for training purposes. The Portable Pylon Anchor can be used to secure the bottom end of the guy cable used with a climb assist sytem when worker mobility and fall protection are needed. Flexibile and Versatile - The evolution Portable Pylon Anchor can be used on a variety of surfaces from dirt, sand, packed soil, or on frozen ground. The anchor eliminates the need for pylon, screw in, or stake-in anchors. Traditional screw-in style Pylon anchors require heavy equipment for installation. Advanced job site planning is necessary, and the anchors are expensive to install. Alternately, blocks of concrete or other weighted objects are used as an end anchor. These home-grown systems may not be approved or appropriate for this type of application and likely are not a certified system. Quick & Easy Installation - The Portable Pylon Anchor is easily and quickly installed by two workers by simply placing it in the desired location, adding the required weights, and hammering in the rear stakes if required. It can be easily moved with a forklift, a crane, or can be taken apart by hand, as it breaks into easily transportable components. Although the anchor is designed to dig deeper into the ground to support higher loading, it is critical that the manufacturer's instructions are followed for the safe installation and use of this product.
