Winemaker Notes - Intense and aromatic nose, with powerful aromas of very ripe fruits (raspberry, blackcurrant) blended with notes of liquorice. On the palate, the wine is both full-bodied and powerful, with ripe and silky tannins. 2007 is an amazing vintage. After a dull summer with little sun, September and October were unusually hot and dry. It saved the vintage and cancelled out any harmful effects of the disappointing summer. More than ever, the quality of the terroir, work in the vineyard (leaf removal, yield control) and rigorous sorting were essential to produce very good wines - in certain cases, considered as superior in quality to the 2006 vintage!
