The classical elegant beauty of this cameo pin pendant strikes the viewers eyes immediately. This cameo comes in a delicately hand made 14k gold half round frame. In the frame are two little genuine diamonds 00.01 point each, inserted. The cameo measures 30 mm from top to bottom and 24 mm from right to left. (A little less than 1 1/4 inch x 1 inch). The stamp on the back side are: 14k, * 377 NA, stand for Naples Italy. The same composition as Wedgwood. Wedgwood is the company name because the man who developed this type of clay composition, wherever he got the idea over 200 years ago, was Josiah Wedgwood. "Wedgwood" has become a generic name for that type of clay and anything in that color as I see many things called just like we call paper tissues "Kleenex" because the brand name Kleenex became so widely used. I find it's better to ask than to buy something and be surprised. I've read a lot about Josiah Wedgwood but never heard before that he developed his clay from something the Italians had first. It is a classic Victorian style black and white poly resin portrait cameo in a scrolling vintage designed sterling silver frame. Containing (1) 25x18mm white and black cameo portrait of a Victorian lady with flowing hair. The cameo is mounted in a cast sterling silver scrolled frame that measures 1 1/2" in length including bail by 7/8" wide. Bezel set in a unique 925 Sterling Silver filigree rope frame edged with a smaller filigree rope, the cameo measures 37 x 28 mm (1.1/2 x a little more than 1 inch).
