It's very common for the jetting to be overly rich so the engine doesn't bog and very common to need carburetor adjustments to compensate for altitude, temperature and even fuel The best way is to regulate the jetting for best performance and then adjust the accelerator pump to match the air flow. An excellent way to adjust the accelerator pump correctly is by changing the leak jet located in the bottom of the float bowl. This jet allows excess fuel back into the bowl so the smaller the jet, the greater the flow of fuel into the engine. Unfortunately, changing the leak jet can be time consuming, and purchasing a range of jets, expensive. After you install this new kit, the leak jet will be replaced with an adjustable leak circuit so you can get the engine 'dialed in' no matter where you are.

A modern four-stroke off-road motorcycle is designed to run on a mixture of fuel (gasoline) and air (oxygen). It performs best at an air-to-fuel ratio of 12:1 to 14:1, depending upon a few variable factors, including the type of fuel. When the mixture gets out of this range it can cause a noticeable loss of power; poor starting; damage to internal components, such as the inlet and exhaust valves; and engine overheating. A bike's jetting is often overly rich to prevent engine bogging, and the carburetor usually needs adjustments to compensate for altitude, temperature, and even fuel. This is usually corrected by regulating the jetting for best performance, then adjusting the accelerator pump to match the air flow. One way to adjust the accelerator pump is to adjust the leak jet located in the bottom of the float bowl. Unfortunately, adjusting this leak jet is time consuming and purchasing a range of jets gets expensive. The smarter way is to install the new Merge Racing Adjustable Leak Jet kit. The 1969 New York Jets were a team for the ages. They finished the regular season with an 11-3 record and beat the Raiders 27-23 in the AFL Championship game. The Jets went into Super Bowl III with a number of offensive weapons to go along with Joe Namath including fellow Hall of Famer Don Maynard George Sauer Matt Snell and Emerson Boozer. Despite being 18-point underdogs to the NFL champion Colts the Jets had the utmost confidence especially Namath who boldly predicted ?oWe?Tre gonna win the game. I guarantee it.?? The Jets went on to win Super Bowl III 16-7; it was the first victory for the AFL.
