The Cuban press is more of a square press, as opposed to a typical box pressed cigar. A trunk press is constructed of wood and consists of a series of 10 shelves, each holding 25 cigars. Once the cigars are in place, the press is closed for 10-12 hours. When the clamps are released, the cigars need to be rotated with great care to avoid damage to the wrappers. The process is then repeated. The end result is a highly pronounced boxy-square shape to the cigar.
