product of a standout growing season, 2007 Migration is sleek and silky, with enticing upfront aromatics and compelling dark fruit layers. nose displays jasmine tea and flowering blackberries, alongside dusty undertones of fresh chanterelles. These aromatics are echoed on palate and accentuated by flavors of huckleberry, boysenberry, licorice, plum, white chocolate and orange blossom, all leading to a cleansing, medium-length finish. In 2007, a dry winter led to even growth and manageable canopies. summer was cool, and lacked any major heat spells until just before Labor Day when we began first of four mini-harvests. These mini-harvests allowed us to pick at ideal ripeness over a seven-week period. Although crop was lighter than expected, quality was excellent. While each mini-harvest offered fruit with its own personality, there is a lovely consistency to dark, well-extracted and structured nature of wines. Wine Enthusiast rating: 90.

fruit for this wine was harvested on 6th of November. fruit was gently de-stemmed by our Euro Select and dumped into 1.5-ton fermenters. After a five-day cold soak and daily pump-over's, yeasts, Rhythm, Melody, & F83 were added to individual fermenters. Fermentation ran from one to two weeks with a temperature range of 60° to 80° Fahrenheit and each fermenter received morning and evening punch downs. wines were allowed a three-day post- fermentation maceration before gentle pressing and racking to barrel. After 10 months in barrel wines were racked off to tank for blending, cold stabilized, run through our cross flow filter and then bottled. The Wine Advocate rating: 91.

The Wine Advocate rating: 94. Our grape bunches are hand-sorted, and once de-stemmed, berries are sorted by hand on way to tank. This is followed by a four to five day cold soak, depending on flavor extraction. fruit is then fermented with 100% native wild yeast in small open-top fermentors for two to three weeks. Towards end of fermentation fruit is gently pressed and moved to barrel. wine finishes fermenting in barrel, which helps integrate flavors from oak. wine continues to age in 70% new French oak for fifteen months. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. 2006 Pahlmeyer Pinot Noir has a deep dark garnet color. In glass aromas open immediately, revealing layers of rich dense fruit, earth and sweet spices. palate also offers layers upon layers of concentrated small berries, black raspberry and cherries, balanced with nicely integrated oak. #52 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2009 A particularly good winter chill ensured more even bud-break than usual and apart from a couple of strong winds in November, wind speeds were lower than average and conditions at flowering excellent. Humidity was higher than usual in January requiring vigilance to ward off disease. While January was warmer than average – contributing to a harvest one week earlier than normal, February and March were cooler than usual. Overall 2007 was a cool year versus our long-term average. Our Castle Rock Pinot Noir is produced from grapes grown in Monterey County along Central Coast of California, where climate and soil quality provide excellent growing conditions for this Burgundian varietal. Santa Lucia Highlands, located on western bench of Salinas Valley, has become known as on premier Pinot Noir appellations of world. One of reasons for this lofty reputation is Rosella's Vineyard. Gary Franscioni planted his home ranch, named for his lovely wife, in heart of Highlands with an excellent selection Pinot Noir clones. His obsession with meticulous farming together fortunate to have access to three small blocks planted with clone 777, Pommard clone and Pisoni clone Pinot Noir. Each block is evaluated individually for picking according to ripeness levels and flavors. grapes are hand picked, then separated into small, individual fermentation lots at winery. We use both native and specially selected yeasts for our fermentations. Our 2007 Pinot noir/Willamette Valley is a complex blend of 13 different vineyards and clones, each harvested, fermented and barrel-aged separately. Fruit in this cuvee was predominately sourced from Laurelwood soils of Chehalem Mountains AVA: Hawks View Vineyard (30%) as well as Shaw Mountain and Dion Vineyards (9%), Arbre Verte Vineyard (4%) and Eds Vineyard (4%). All of these sites have fairly mature vines, with Arbre Verte leading pack at 28 years. typical plumy notes and soft tannin profiles of Chehalem Mountains AVA fruit were given form, structure and spice by blending fruit from sites in McMinnville AVA: Stony Mountain Vineyard (22%) and a modicum from Meredith Mitchell Vineyard (7%). This approachable Pinot has pleasing notes of plum and cherry cola on nose. 2006 is destined to be a classic. Nearly perfect conditions at bloom and a long warm growing season led to a warm harvest producing fully ripened and mature fruit of exceptional quality. A relatively mild spring, followed by warm and dry months and small heat spikes in June and September, allowed for additional hang-time and promoted flavor development and concentration. Continued warmth in September and October, despite a few periods of rain, resulted in a fast and furious harveSaint mild, late rains cooled fruit, tempering hot days and slowing sugar development. This resulted in optimal ripeness and maturity.
