1-800-flowers STINK!

I ordered flowers for Mother's Day for my 84 year old mother. They didn't come on Saturday or Sunday. When I called Sunday afternoon I was assured that they were coming that day. My poor old Mom waited on the steps for her flowers all evening. No flowers. I called and was told 'sorry, but we got swamped'. No apologies. I was offered a 20% credit. I told them that I would never order from them again and would tell as many people as I can about my experience. Don't order from this shop unless you want to be disappointed.

Absolutely horrible service, just got off the phone w/customer service after Mom didnt recieve her flowers today (Mothers Day) and it was basically a "tough break" approach! I ordered 2 sets to go out; one to my Mother in Law and one to my Mom. They wouldnt give me a credit on the one that went to my inlaw nor would they even discount the set to my mom that would end up being delivered a day late. Very frustrating as i dont live near Mom anymore and its not like i can run down the street to pick something up now. The manager i spoke with even said they took a bloodbath on margins last year because of numerous similar situations! Way to go 1800Flowers...screw the consumer, yeah, that will definitely translate into more market share next year. My gripe is that there was no solution at all...just an empty "sorry, here's a 20% coupon so you can order from us again"....I suggest ordering locally so that if faced with an unfortunate situation like mine you wont be dealing with corporate America's margin, you would be dealing with someone who just might sincerely apologize and make it right.

COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE AND EXTREMELY OVERPRICED

I spent almost $60 dollars for a very modest Mother's Day flower arrangement that was not delivered until 7:30 p.m. on Mother's Day.
I placed the order early Saturday afternoon and was not informed that there would be any exceptional delay at the time I ordered. Had I known the delivery would not be made by noon, on Mother's Day I would have canceled it. But the checkout section of the website provided no such information. I spent Mother's Day sending two emails and making two calls (of course I was put on hold) to 1-800-Flowers. During my first call, at around 1 p.m., their automated system told me only that the delivery was in process. During my second call, at around 6 p.m., the system referred me to a customer service representative, who gave me the flimsy excuse that the florist was behind because of a high volume of orders. I was told I'd get a confirmation call when the delivery was finally made. I didn't even get that. The only reason I know is because my mother called me. OUTRAGEOUS. I will not be using them again. |

I ordered a large flower bourquet for my grandmother who came out of the hospital and I want to give her a happy Mother's Day flower from 1800flowers.com because of commercial....never will I trust this online company! I ordered fields of Europe LARGE and what my grandmother received was a small bourquet with 3 large flower, 3 medium size and 4 small flowers and few green leaves. The flowers weren't large! It was outrageous! After calling them, they say that they will send another one...after seeing the complaints about the online flower, I said no. I won't get any refund if I do that...what if they sent another lousy bourquet! This is the first and last time I will order from 1800flowers.com. Please, people, go to another online flower or go to your local flourist and hand pick them yourself so YOU are satisfied. Nobody picks flowers better than ourselves. End of my rant.

Liars: Customer Satisfaction not Guaranteed

Through an email mailing, they advertised free Mother's Day shipping for delivery on 5/6-8. The promo code would not work for an online order. I called-in the order and the order taker said the promo code would be accepted, after talking to her manager. I even had her confirm the amount, which did not have shipping charges.
*I later received an invoice with shipping charges. When I called-in, the customer service rep admitted they had a lot of issues with the electronic mailing, but could not do anything. I asked for a manager. He said he could not reverse the shipping charges either. I asked him to reverse the shipping charges or I would have no other alternative but to dispute the charge amount. After that, he said he could not talk anymore. Additionally, their people have issues with spelling and grammar. |

THE ABSOLUTE WORST customer service reps (and manager) I have ever encountered!!! DO NOT USE!!! My mom's in the hospital on the East Coast, and I'm on the West Coast. I ordered online Friday to be delivered the next day. My dad called and said they hadn't arrived. I called the company and the rep was so rude and uncaring. She said that the computer read that "the customer called and cancelled the order, and the credit card was issued a credit." WRONG! I never cancelled, and was not informed of the cancellation. She informed me that the flowers were out of stock and that someone had "tried" to call me and leave a message. WRONG! No missed calls on my cell phone or home phone w/ caller ID.

My son used 1-800-FLOWERS to send his mom some flowers for her birthday. He used the web site, and got confirmation email. Well a week later we find that the order was never delivered. Of course, feelings were hurt all around. I called 1-800-FLOWERS to see what happened. It turns out the order was rejected by the local florist due to lack of product. I asked why we were never notified that the order was rejected, and was told that notification "was in the queue." More than a week later and no notification. That must be one looong queue of unfulfilled orders at 1-800-FLOWERS. The refunded my money when I called, after keeping the money for a week. Nice.
I have never had a worse experience with a florist. |

I ordered flowers to be delivered on the 19th. On the 21st, I was wondering why I hadn't received an excited "Thank you" call from the recipient so I called 1-800Flowers to inquire. I could see I had been charged for the flowers on my bank statement, but their website didn't indicate a delivery attempt. When I reached their customer service rep, casually advised me that they had forwarded the order to a florist but the florist hadn't filled the order. She couldn't say why, and acted as if she really didn't care, kind of like, "well, it happens! We did OUR part". When I explained that I no longer needed the flowers nor did I have confidence in her company, she advised that I would be credited when the same florist who dropped the ball and botched my order got around to issuing a credit to THEM. Wish me luck!

I was very frazzled because I had almost forgotten my friend's birthday. She lives on the other side of the country. I didn't know what to do. Mailing something would take too long and I would miss her birthday. I went to 1800flowers.com and picked out a bouquet. It was very easy and they have a very broad selection. I ordered on January 31st and wanted it delivered on February 2nd. I had no problems doing so. Although they do charge extra for such short notice. Their prices are sort of high anyway. But if you are really stuck and you really need something and don't mind spending a few extra bucks, this site is great.

Of the 4 times I have ordered flowers from 1800flowers.com, they have failed to deliver 2 orders - one order was resent and they failed that too.
The cost of each order was refunded and an additional gift certificate for approx the cost of the flowers was mailed to me. Somehow that doesn't compensate for missing my mother's birthday or my spouse on valentines day. Next time I'll send a gift card or pick up flowers myself - probably considerably cheaper too. |

I ordered flowers for $71.xx to be delivered on Wednesday, February 14th. "Due to the holiday rush," I was not able to track the order (although they sent me an e-mail to do so). Every time I called I was hung up on by their absurd automated service. I was called on Friday, February 16th telling me that the order had not gotten there (it took two days to figure this out, apparently). After they tried to give me a $3.00 refund and 20% off a future order, I demanded a supervisor, and received 20% off that order (for a refund of $17.xx). They said they'd "try" to make sure it got out that day; it didn't. I learned today that the order arrived around noon today (Tuesday, February 20th). I will never order from them again.

I ordered flowers from 1-800 Flowers.com for my Aunt's 101st Birthday. They were never delivered. No one called or e-mailed me. When I called, they said they were not delivered due to Traffic. There is no traffic in her totally residential neighborhood. When I questioned that answer, they changed it to no delivery due to the Presidents Day Parade. There is no such Parade in DC and my Aunt lives no where near downtown. They simply did not deliver them and never planned on telling me. This was for her 101st Birthday.

MISERABLE EXPERIENCE W/ 1-800-FLOWERS
by jcg1140, February 20, 2007

The worst experience I ever had with ordering flowers!
I ordered flowers well in advance for delivery 2/13 or 2/14. Flowers arrived TWO DAYS LATE on 2/16--DEAD--from frost damage in transit. Nice. Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart! Nothing says "I Love You" like dead flowers. I refused delivery and sent the flowers back. I e-mailed 1-800-FLOWERS complaining about the situation. They sent one e-mail back to me saying, "Your flowers were delivered on 2/16 at 3:45 p.m." They never addressed any of my concerns. Finally, I called them and asked what was going on. They said, "This matter is in dispute. I'll have to talk to my supervisor about this." I was put on hold for 20 minutes while bad music played. It soon became obvious this was a stall tactic meant to get rid of me. No one got back on the line. I have already submitted a disputed billing to my credit card--apparently the only way to get my money back. Ironically, on their materials it states "At 1-800-FLOWERS, your satisfaction is guaranteed!" They forgot to add the phrase, "Just kidding!" |

Do not use 1800flowers.com. Past three experiences. Last year sent an arrangement to a friend for a lost one. The arrangement was totally wrong. My father sent my mother flowers this Valentine's Day. Had them shipped for the 13th to avoid the busy rush. 4 of the flowers were dead. I ordered a dozen roses for my girlfriend to be delivered this Valentine's Day. They were not received. Thought maybe they would get there on the 15th......Nope. Cancelled the order yesterday. My account has yet to be cancelled. They had no problem taking the money out of my account the very next day after ordering the flowers though. Customer Service was also of no use.

I would like to thank Flowers.com for a HUGE Valentine's Day disappointment! My boyfriend ordered flowers for me for Valentine's Day a month ago. An email was sent to him on 2/13 saying that due to winter weather they would be delivered on or before 2/14. It's now 2/16 and still nothing. He had to ruin the surprise to ask me if I had received anything. Once he got through to the 800 line. The excuse was "we over booked" How dose that happen? Did you not expect people to order flowers for that day? Needless to say he cancelled the order and will not be ordering from you in the future. Of all days you pick that day to "over book!!" Thanks for nothing. After finding out that he ordered them for me, waiting for them to arrive and then finding out the order was cancelled. Some Valentine's Day. I hope you all had a good one!!

Ruined Valentines Day and Refused Refund for Poor Service
by markpiber, February 17, 2007

1800 Flowers offers "Guaranteed Valentines Day Delivery" for around 20 dollars extra. Unfortunately, this "guarantee" doesnt hold any water and when the flowers didnt arrive that day they refused to refund me any money, offer a coupon, or make me feel any better. Even getting that response from them was a pain in the butt due to a inefficient customer service system. I wrote them twice on their customer service page and after not recieving any word back for 3 days I waited for 10 minutes for a representative to tell me it wasnt their fault and that they werent going to pay me back.
I will never order from them ever again and their "satisfaction guaranteed" and "guaranteed Valentines Day delivery" was a load of lying hogwash. Definitely not the way to run a business... they clearly dont care about the customer. |
