SITE NAVIGATION

When you first arrive at the homepage, there are tons of links that will take you to pretty much anywhere you need to go on the site. The top links are for Cart, Find a Gift, Home, and Service. There is also a sign-in link for members. Members have such benefits as email product alerts, an address book to save shipping addresses, and the ability to look up order history online. There are 3 main tabs, Games, Puzzles, and Other Fun Stuff.

The left navigation is where things get a little “cluttered”. You can do a quick site search to go directly to the game you are looking for (that is, if you already have something in mind), or do an advanced search. There are Deals and Steals which will link you to clearance items. There are tabs for Favorites and Best Sellers. Also, the games are broken down into Ages and Interests (such as Animals, TV/Film, Sports, Trivia, BrainTeasers, etc.).

There is a link to their unique service, called the Game Attic. In the Game Attic, you can purchase out of circulation games such as Catch!, I Dream of Jeannie, The Yogi Bear Game, Grapple, Ego Trip, and tons more. Most of these games are pre-owned and in great shape. The condition is clearly described as either Excellent, Very Good, Good, or Fair.

Under the main Games tab, the games are divided into 14 categories that you can browse through. These categories are: Adult Party Games, Card Games, Classic Games, Dice Games, Electronic Games, Family Games, Kids Games, Preschool Games, Skill Games, Strategy Games, Travel Games, Trivia Games, Word Games, and Game Supplies.

Under the main Puzzles tab, you can further browse by category, size, number of pieces, and finally by the type of puzzle that you are looking for.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

Shipping is somewhat difficult to figure out, in my opinion. It can also end up making your purchase more expensive here than at other comparable sites, depending on your circumstance. Their shipping chart is as follows:

Standard (3-7 business days): $3.99 per shipment + $0.99/lb.
Premium (2-3 business days): $7.99 per shipment + $1.99/lb.
Express (1-2 business days): $16.99 per shipment + $3.99/lb.

AreYouGame.com will ship to PO Boxes, US territories, and APO/FPO military addresses. They cannot ship to other international addresses at this time.

They say to allow one business day to process the order, though if they receive the order by 10:00am PST Monday-Friday then it will be processed the same day. They don’t ship on weekends. Your order will ship from Memphis, TN.

CUSTOMER SERVICE/ORDERING INFORMATION

They accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express cards for internet or telephone orders. If you mail in your order, then you also have the option of paying with a Money Order. AreYouGame.com charges sales tax for orders shipped to Tennessee (9.25%) and California (8.25%).

AreYouGame.com also offers the option of ordering an email or traditional paper gift certificate.

Returns are accepted within 30 days. They only reimburse shipping and handling charges if the shipment was their error (ex. – you did not receive the game you ordered), or if the product is defective.

MY EXPERIENCE/FINAL RECOMMENDATION

AreYouGame.com has just about every board game that you could possibly want available for sale on their website! I purchased Cranium from this site a few months ago. The game arrived at my door 4 business days later. It was properly packaged for safe transit. I did not have any problems with my order, so I had no need to have further dealings with their customer service department. Overall, I was pleased with my shopping experience. I will say that with the shipping and handling charges however, you may very easily be able to find a better deal elsewhere.
