Absolutely the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time.
Ordered two items before Christmas and chose "Fast & Free delivery" which should have been Dec 21/08. Their shipping/tracking was completely not working - I live an hour away form the PO box address so obviously I want to know the package is there before taking two hours out of my day to drive there and back. Honestly, people running businesses out of their garages on Ebay can efficiently supply tracking numbers - it's unbelievable a company the size of B&N can't do this.
I called the post office and they graciously checked my PO box and reported a package from B&N. Except when I got there they only shipped one of the two items - so now I'm left with another trip (hour there, hour back...) after Christmas to try and get the second item. Except their tracking numbers still don't work so I have no idea if it's there.
The best part is on top of this, they charged me for shipping since it was split into two packages (I checked the box when ordering saying not to do this).
I sent an email to their customer service department and I literally got an automated email back saying they wouldn't be able to respond to it because they had too big of a volume of emails at that time.
After two weeks of calling on their toll-free number I finally reached a human at B&N only after trying their regular number (another $2.00 for long distance...) AND they won't refund the shipping.
It's not a lot of money - $7, but I can't believe how I'm being jerked around. I've previously been a steady purchaser from Amazon - this is my one and ONLY purchase from B&N.
