Same Day Delivery a Come-On, Zero Customer Service

I placed an order this morning for same-day delivery in Manhattan. My order was placed at 10:50 this morning, in advance of the 11:00 AM deadline...or so I thought! Barnes and Noble sent a reply email that my order was received at 11:03! I called Customer Service, and they claimed my order was received at 11:08...5 minutes after the timestamp on Barnes and Noble's own confirmation email! I asked how their email server knew I placed an order at 11:03 if my order wouldn't be received for another 5 mintues, demonstrating that they have a timeliness issue with their shipping system, but they insisted that the error was mine. After 15 additional minutes of waiting on hold, I was told there was nothing to be done. I wasn't even offered a waiver of shipping as way of an apology for completely ruining my Father's Day gift.
Don't shop with these clowns. The only reason why I went with their higher prices and more expensive shipping over Amazon.com was the promise of same-day delivery. Barnes and Noble.com can't even tell time, so don't expect much in the way of fast delivery or competant service. In the future, I'll be sticking with old reliable, Amazon.com.
