Ordered via phone a Britax Marathon Ashley from them on the last week of February. I was told that it was in stock and would take about 5 days for ground shipping (I opted for cheapest shipping). Was told by customer service rep that I will receive an e-mail with tracking number from the warehouse within several days. About 5 business days later, no e-mail with tracking number, no communication at all from company. I called customer service and was told that the car seat was backordered until the end of March. They tried to blame the website for not providing customers with up to date inventory - and I told them that I ordered on the phone and not the website. I was then given the option of either cancelling the order or waiting for the car seat to arrive. I told them that neither one was acceptable and they would have to find another print in the same car seat. I placed another call to the company's headquarter (Baby Universe) and received a call the next day from a customer service rep. She was very helpful and tried to find me another print. She found one that was in stock and requested that it be shipped immediately from a warehouse location closest to my state. Unfortunately, the next day, I received an e-mail from her to notify me that that print was also back-ordered. I also received an e-mail from the company with regards to the backorder of my original order! I could not believe it, more than 1 week after I was supposed to receive the car seat, I got an e-mail telling me that it was backordered! I placed another call to customer service stating that their business practices was unacceptable/poor and that they need to update their inventory systems. Afterall, they make you pay for your purchases right away. I left another message with the customer representative from headquarters that I was very unsatisfied and wanted the first car seat available from the prints that were offered to me right away.
Next day, I received an e-mail that my order was shipped via Fed Ex and it arrived with express delivery two days later. The car seat was perfect and I was satisfied that they made the effort to get me the car seat.
I think that they are working out kinks in their inventory system and are working on improving the communication that is coming out of their warehouse with regards to inventory and sending customer tracking info, etc. Nonetheless, they should know what they have on hand what they do not have on hand. They should get better inventory software and stop blaming the warehouse. The customer service reps were very helpful and sympathetic, but they did not have any control over the inventory systems. In my case, I know they worked hard to get me the car seat in the next available print right away. I would shop here again, but not to buy any big ticket items.
