Ectaco dictionaries

The overall shopping process is simple and well defined. I did end up returning the unit I purchased but if the user manual was more descriptive I likely would have been able to figure out how to us it best. This is not necessarily Ectaco's problem but rather the item manufacturer. I was very please with Ectaco and their RGA handling. I will definitely shop at Ectaco in the future.

Shopping at the website was just fine, as I reported in the initial survey, and I received the package at the expected delivery time. However, the delivery did NOT include 2 of the promised bonus products. More importantly, some of the software included is very poor in terms of performance. Finally, repeated efforts to discuss these matters with the Customer Service division did not solve all the problem issues. I should have asked for a refund, but I figured that would be an even bigger problem. Besides, I can do a lot more damage to their reputation by spreading the word on their products.

Very good experience with Ectaco. The website described the products well and allowed me to make comparisons. The delivery came very quickly as I instructed---and by regular shipping !

Web-based sales and invoice documents are misleading. Pages show items to be included in the purchase. When contacted the merchant refers back to earlier offer messages and a "terms of service" page (which is not accessed during the transaction). No recognition of enticing bonus offers that appear to be included in the transaction and the actual sales confirmation. Very misleading

The product I was sent was an older model in and open package and was missing some pieces. It did not work well with other software. I returned it today and will hope I get my money back less the cost of shipping that I had to pay, even though I did'nt get the product I expected to.

the process to qualify my credit card (outside the US) was too long - asked to fax a copy of teh credit card - as fax is not the best media for sending pictures - the fax was not clear and only after this happened I got the option to scan and email the card image. This delay forced me to upgrade the shipment to 2 business days delivery (as I visit the USA for short period) and to pay extra US$15.If I would have told from the very begining to scan and email the credit card - I would save this extra payment and time it takes to pass through all the process

The whole service was outstanding. I had a major issue with the product I purchased and called for assistance. Your rep, Boris, was extremely helpful. He told me he needed to locate more information to answer my questions and that he would call me back in "15-20 minutes." As is usual in these cases, I figured if I heard from him at all it would be in days, not minutes. I was amazed when he did call about 18 minutes later.

There is not way online to get an order tracking number or see if it has been shipped yet. I had to call to find out. They did provide an order tracking number on the phone and it was very accurate. It is not possible to do any follow up on their web sight, though.

Your cyberdict IV is as advertised as a Talking bidirectional english to thai and thai to english. We cannot get it to speak thai out loud. How can we do this? Is there another translator that will? Please let me know! I have sent other e mails, no one responds.

I had problems to put a few items/products in a single order (Ectaco website). So, I had to complete a few separate orders. Such separation increased the shipping cost.

The prices that they have on site are not real, ask for better price and your product will reduce 20% at least, and wait for some thing free that they don’t have a good sale. Why they don’t put a real price instead of to offer a bad product together our product trying show that we are making a good deal. They offer me a dictionary free (value 100 dollars) together my request, but when I analyze the dictionary I saw that it not will be a useful to me. I requested to change for another one (same value) and they don’t make a deal; it not like good to me once the price is the same. I did return the item because it was a gift in other way I will never get the product. But one thing is right; I will never buy on ECTACO again.

Ectaco site offered me a lower price than coupon code suggested. As it was now an even better bargain I ordered the product giving my credit card details. Order was confirmed, I got the software, they billed the credit card. ......THEN they figured their system had got it wrong. Instead of taking it on the chin (only $50 in the difference) or contacting me to work something out, they took the difference from my credit card account without any authorization. Whatever about $50 being a small amount for them, I consider any company that takes any money from my credit card without my authorization to be acting improperly and probably illegally.

pre-purchase questions were sometimes ignored, which nearly made me purchase at another vendor. the pop-up discount boxes on the website were annoying, I would have prefered more direct information about a possible discount.

When I start my quest of an electronic dictionary I knew nothing about Ectaco. It was very easy to get links in internet. After navigating web site of few compnies I chose Ectaco because it was the one which implanted confidence since the first view of their web page. And I never regret: the service is good, quick and it has so many specialties as discounts, free gifts, and gifts certificates! I enjoyed it!!!
