When I searched on price for my iomega eGo, J&R had one of the better prices -- even when factoring in shipping. I had never shopped with them before, so I hoped I wasn't taking too much of a risk in buying from them. Not to worry! They sent a prompt confirmation of my order, and I had my new drive within a week. Not only that, they included a letter outlining their commitment to customer service and assuring me that if I had any problems whatsoever, I could call them toll-free anytime. I also received a free shipping incentive if I purchased anything related to my order within 90 days. I would definitely purchase from J&R again.

To be honest, I'm not really happy writing this review, but I feel like I should express my experience. My friend ordered from JR.com once before and the item came fine so I was pretty confident when I ordered from them. I placed my order on 8/4/2009 and then I waited for about a week, given that my friend's order arrived promptly in five days, I was slightly concerned about the hold up so I emailed JR and got a canned response back ("Thank you for your letter. We're sorry to hear about the problem.... etc") I did find out that the order shipped on the 7th, unlike what the web site said (the 4th) so I was prepared to wait another couple of days for it. Three to four days passed and I still didn't recieve my item and so I emailed them again, getting another canned response (in fact, the same one). To this day, my item has not come. This may or may not be JR.com's fault (possibly lost in the mail) but I'm pretty unhappy with how this all played out.

I had a good experience shopping online at J&R Music and Computer World Online Store. I was shopping for a VCR/DVD player that had the correct type of component output plugs to match my older Tv set in my motorhome. The player also had to be a certain size to fit into the cabinet over the dashboard. The descriptions on the web page were thorough and assured me that I was buying one that would work correctly and fit correctly. The shipping was very fast and the package was well protected with plenty of bubble wrap to ensure that the player would arrive without any damage. The website was easy to navigate, had secure ordering protocol and everything went smooth. The VCR/DVD is a Sony which I'm familiar with, having other Sony equipment in my home. This Sony was remanufacured but appears to be new. The audio and video quality upon playback is excellent. After doing an online price comparison, I found that J&R offered this item for substantially less than other sites. (It was around $99 instead of $119.) I called to place my order, to see how quickly it could be delivered, since I live in NYC. The clerk was helpful and well-informed, and when he was not able to get it to me by the weekend without charging for expedited shipping (because I was placing my order too late in the day), he lowered the price for me by $5.  The fan arrived quickly and I was very pleased with the whole experience (and the purchase!).

I ordered an HP printer/fax/copier/scanner during J&R Music's weekend sale. I'd been watching sale prices for a while and this was the best I'd seen for HP.  The shipping charge was reasonable - I hate places that offer a very low price and then charge $45 dollars to deliver a reasonably small and light package - and if arrived in 3 days.

I ordered a PS3 and Sony TV. JR had the second best deal on the TV after hours of looking around. A shipping confirmation seemed to take a day longer than it should have but the  order did ship from NY to AZ in just a week. Their shipping company they used sent me an Email to schedule delivery according to my schedule. Everything arrived in perfect condition.         The delivery speed of the product was very prompt and accurate. I was able to track the order with the information sent in the email and knew when it would be delivered and was expecting it. So far, I am very pleased with the product that is working well.

        However I do have 2 suggestions:
1. Include more that 5 presets
2. The buttons should be lit and visable in the dark

The agent was very helpful and answered all my questions.  I had put a hold on an electronic item.  The experience could have been made better had the agent told me that the item was being held for 48 hours so this way I would know the time limit.  However, when I called back (this could be improved - I called many times before I got an agent) I was able to get the same agent who extended the time on the held item.  I did get my item but it was a bit of a struggle.

I was a little concerned about ordering a camera on-line at some store I had never heard of but I was very pleasantly surprised with the customer service I received.  I received my camera and accessories quicker than I expected. Called in an order for a Panasonic DMCZS3K which has been hard to find in stock.  Salesperson was very courteous and happily answered my questions.  He followed up promptly with an email regarding my order.  Camera arrived within just a few days.  This was my first order with J&R but it won't be my last.

The hardware for the iomega slim writer works fine. The software that came with it played DVD's but not with sound. I spent two hours trying to fix it with the tech support from Omega who could not get the software to work properly.Finally, at the suggestion of one of their supervisors I downloaded free software which worked. I am not pleased with J&R and feel you shold not have sold me a product with software that did not work. Moreover, when I called J&R I was told that you would provide tech support but only for a fee. This seems unfair since it was a new product which you should have known had a problem- luckily a fixable one.  I will be less likely to shop at J&R because of this event.  I have ordered many items from them and this is my first less than satisfactory experiece. A Hands-on Guide to Creative Lighting:Excellent! You had the DVD I wanted and couldn't get in Canada. Shipping was very reasonable ($5.95) -- especially compared to several other reputable stores. It arrived in the mail 11 days after I ordered it (a period that included national holidays in both the US and Canada) which is quick for cross-border shipments.

Absolutely worst online experience ever! Delivery was made wrong. Took J&R three weeks to deliver to a wrong address, even though the right one was specified. The correction took them another two weeks. Eventually I had to leave without the equipment only to return home and find it delivered at the next door neighbors house.

  Delivery took about 10 days. After I got everything plugged in, my grandson came to fine tune things for me. Probably haven't taken advantage of many features but hope to eventually. hi. my name is Jorge Ellis , i recently bought a 50" panasonic plasma tv.I can tell you that the service is good. why? because i wanted the tv before the 4th of july and i have palced the order just a day before ,normaly it woul take about 5 to 6 days. but i asked one of the sales rep if i could have it by the 4th he said he would check and poof i got my tv the next day; deleivery on time! One thing the did that i have not experience with any one else was the caring to find out that they was delivering the tv to the right addresse and person. they took the time to comunicate with me about all the aspects of my transaction.
