As April’s treat I got my daughter a gift card at one of her favorite stores, J.Crew

About the site:

Well this was certainly a pleasure to use! J.Crew Online sells shoes, men’s and women’s clothes, there is an in season sale and a cold weather clearance going on. You can also look for a bathing suit to fit your body type and accessories to go along with that. Each picture not only allows you to click on a link for more details but then goes into the colors of the item, the material and how to wash it. The variety of swimsuits isn't huge, but I think buying a bathing suit online is very difficult.

Looking at women’s clothes we see many, many options and varieties of articles including items in petite and tall sizes, women’s favorites and special clothes such as their linen line for the summer. You'll find classic suits, pants, jeans, shorts, skirts, shirts, sweaters, jackets,
J.Crew gym, intimates, footwear, and accessories.

I have never shopped at J.Crew thinking that it was a store for my daughter’s age, 22, but I loved many of the items and with the size chart I could easily buy many items online. There were 21 gym items online which is a nice variety however, there were no gym shorts which surprised me.

J.Crew is not a discount store so expect to pay $48 for a cotton waffle three-quarter sleeve sweater. I would usually pay ½ that but if you love J.Crew this site is very easy to use, easy to navigate and loads instantly.

Purchasing, Shipping, Returns:

There is a link that tells you how much shipping will be so you won’t be surprised. There is no shipping charge for gift cards, which is what I usually find. I recently bought gift cards for movie tickets at Regal Entertainment and paid $8.00 in shipping! You will pay $4.95 for purchases up to $25.00 all the way up to $15.95 for over $200.00. There are fast options as well- 3 business days for $6.00 extra and overnight for $12.00 extra.

We are told to expect our order in 2-8 business days.

Their return policy is clear “We guarantee and accept returns on all merchandise purchased from our catalog, over the internet, or from our retail and factory stores." It goes into more detail on the website.

There were a couple of features I really like about the site:

We are told that the recipient will get an e-mail that a gift is on its way. I liked the fact that I got an immediate confirmation by e-mail thanking me for my order, giving me a bit of information including “For most orders, we can link you directly to the shipping carrier so you can track your package right to your doorstep” and I liked the fact that I could write a personal message to her.

The only 5 second hold up, and we are told to expect that, is upon payment. After putting in my credit card it took a moment to process it, but literally only a moment.

They accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard,
Discover and JCB.

They also accept J.Crew Gift Cards online which is how my daughter bought her items.


My final thoughts:

I ordered this on April 22 and my daughter received the gift card on April 26th. She was going online immediately to buy a belt and a skirt. She wore them for Mother's Day and the two items were very nice. This is a great site and the gift certificates make great gifts especially for upcoming graduations.
