I am a king size kind of guy. My honey has decided I should start moving toward normal size and the pants and shirts I have in my closet are, well, a little loose these days. As I grew in stature (outward, not upward) I had tried several on-line stores and just wasnt quite satisfied. So in my quest for happiness as I shrink toward my honeys ideal, I tried Google. They directed me first to the stores I had already tried. I moved down their list and found
KingSize Direct. I clicked through and was impressed by their site organization and selection.
One of the problems I have in ordering pants is that I have a large, but short waist and shorter than normal legs. Most stores, including on-line, dont carry pants of my girth with legs short enough and I have to have them altered. What intrigued me right off about KingSize Direct is that they have alteration services as part of the order process. It only adds $4.99 to the price of unhemmed trousers, a good price based on local costs. Of course it adds a few days to the delivery process, but when they arrive they are ready to wear.
This is a men's store for men who are big or tall. They carry clothing and accesories including outerwear and shoes. I looked over the site and found that KingSize Direct carries many name brands that I have found to be quality mens clothing. They also have an extensive clearance section where prices seemed too good to be true. But what if I didnt like what I received? This is always a concern for me, particularly when ordering on-line. Their return policy is simple. When you receive your order just be sure and save the invoice. There is a return label that will get you a return through any UPS location for $5.50. The reason for return can be anything. There is no restocking charge and you can request a replacement or you will receive a full merchandise credit within 90 days. I would prefer refund but this isn't too bad if you order regularly. You are out shipping both ways, but this is pretty normal and not much more than the gas cost you would spend at a local store these days. I havent tried their return yet as I was happy with my first order. I have already ordered again.
I found three pairs of trousers in the clearance section and, with some trepidation, added them to the shopping cart after selecting size, color (not much choice in the clearance section), and the length I wanted on the trouser legs. I ordered a fourth pair from their regular selection. The site is apparently linked to their inventory system and all items were shown to be in inventory. When I went to checkout it was as simple as any. I had to fill in all the shipping information and the credit card information. I always use American Express when ordering from a new place on-line. I have found this to be much simpler to control the expense when there is a problem. I do recommend using the AmEx card if you have one.
I got a fast email that my order was received. I had opted for standard delivery and was assured it would arrive within seven to ten days. They gave me a no later than date. I sat back to await the slings and arrows of fate that have sometimes accompanied my on-line shopping experiences. Three days later I received an email that my order had been shipped. Not one back order. My card was charged the day they shipped rather than the day I ordered, another thing I really appreciated. The package arrived five days early and everything was in good condition.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products, especially those ordered through their clearance section. They were top quality at a very good price. The alterations were done and the extra material was even stuffed into a pocket or leg of the trousers. The fit was fine and I am enjoying wearing clothes that fit well again.
Since I have often found that cheaper clothes run small, I did order at the upper edge of my waist size. These clothes are not cheap, just inexpensive, and my next order is for a size smaller. That should help them fit longer as my honey shrinks me down to size.
