Awful customer service--not worth the trouble
Full review
Not the quality of Crate and Barrel--don't be fooled! We ordered a glider and waited 14 weeks for it to arrive. The gliding mechanism squeaked so loud you could hear it in the whole house--not ideal for putting a newborn to sleep or nursing. After 7 phone calls over 6 weeks (we had to call them--they promised to let us know what was going on, but never did), they gave us a firm date when the new mechanism would be delivered, a date the furniture medic would fix it, and a date the gift card would arrive (to make up for all of our trouble); none of these things occurred! After several more phone calls, we threatened to return the glider. Only then did the mechanism arrive and the furniture medic come. The furniture manager promised us three separate times to send us the gift card to make up for all the lost time via Fed Ex. She did not send it and then blamed it on the US Post Office (who last time I checked does not run Fed Ex) and then she blamed Crate and Barrel. In the end, the furniture manager did not fulfill her promise and a customer service rep took care of it after we said we would talk to the Furniture Manager's supervisor. At least someone there does their job! I should note that the furniture medic they used to make the repair was prompt and courteous; the repairman called ahead to confirm the time he would come, he came on time and was finished in 15 minutes. A 15 minute fix that took two months! Crate and Barrel should re-evaluate their association with this company.
