Shipping was fast, all items were accounted for, my kids LOVE the products - but the positive aspects of LeapFrog.com end RIGHT THERE.

Somewhere along the line, LeapFrog.com forgot the meaning of customer service and that the sale rarely ends with the simple exchange of products and money.

I placed an order during their big 25% off sale last month. I ordered several My First LeapPad books, qualified for a free gift, and qualified for free shipping with a code I had received on-line. Each book cost $9.99 and was on sale for $7.49.

While reviewing my shopping cart prior to checkout, all items were correct. $7.49 for each book, the $8.00 charge for the free gift was waived, but the shipping was still $5.95. I let it go because I figured the code might have been invalid. Once the order was actually submitted at checkout I found that LeapFrog actually charged me the full price of $9.99 per item and $8.95 for shipping.

I called LeapFrog and they told me I would be contacted within 24 hours regarding a resolution. A week later nobody had called me back. I called them again and a girl told me that "lots of people" were having the same issue and that she had no idea when they would get back to me due to the volume of complaints (at least she was honest). The third time I called back I demanded a manager and they left me on hold for almost an hour. The manager finally picked up and told me she could not find my account. Then she told me to forward my billing statement from the credit card company to her so they could further investigate and that she would call me when she could locate my account. I told her what my track record was with "call backs" from LeapFrog and she assured me that she would personally follow up herself and call me within 24 hours.

Here I am 5 days later with no refund, no explanations, and only 7 days until the 30 day return policy expires. I recommend you go to the Better Business Bureau website and look up the other 36 complaints regarding LeapFrog.com (which by the way is a company that is NOT endorsed by the BBB) before doing any business with these people. I recommend not buying from LeapFrog.com directly; either that or get your kid a V-Smile.

P.S. The "free gift" was a phonics kit (one in a series of three) which was nice but it was specifically made to be used with the Leap Pad PLUS Writing console so if you don't own the Leap Pad PLUS Writing product, it's not so useful.

I FINALLY received a refund for the 25% difference directly to the credit card I had used to charge the product but I only found this out when I saw my credit card statement today. Nobody called to follow up or notify me of the decision to reverse the charges (as they had promised several times) and they never refunded the difference in the shipping cost.
