I live in British Columbia, Canada, 15 minutes from the US border and 40 minutes to the nearest Linen-N-Things store in Bellingham, WA. I am looking into getting a new set of cookware for the kitchen.
Looking in the Linen-N-Things flyer that came last weekend,
I saw a set of pots that I thought I might like and was going to go and have a look.
A friend of mine brought me the weekend paper from Seattle that had a Linen-N-Things flyer in it.
The BC flyer and the Seattle flyer are identical except for one thing.
Price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I went to their web site the US prices and Canadian prices match the respective flyers.
Almost 95% of what is on the Canadian site is exactly 50% more expensive than the US one.
The pots I was looking at are 200 US but 300 Canadian.
The pots beside it are 400 US but 600 Canadian.
The small appliances on the front page are 20 US and 30 Canadian.
If something is 10 US it is 15 Canadian.
The Canadian dollar has been at or above par for more than six months.
A year ago the exchange was only 16% yet current prices are 50% more.
I will never shop at this rip-off joint again!
