My husband and I owned a combination Natural Food Restaurant and Health Food store for nearly 30 years, so, needless to say, we got spoiled when we were able to buy all our vitamins at wholesale prices. It was easy when we ordered from the manufacturers to just add what we wanted to the list.

Everything changed when we sold our store and we are no longer in that position to be able to do that anymore…but we still do believe in the benefits of taking many different kinds of nutrients and now have to buy them retail just like everyone else….Believe me, sticker shock really has set in as to what it costs to keep try to keep us healthy.

Recently a friend of mine told me about a great on-line website that sells nothing but Vitamins and Nutrients at unbelievable prices, with deals that just cannot compare elsewhere. Not only that, but they often have strange shipping deals too… The first time we ordered they were offering 17 cent shipping regardless of the price of the order. Another time, it was a dollar, and once it was penny shipping.

Best of all, the offers they have are amazing. I'm always on the lookout for twofers, buy one get one free deals, but Puritan Pride goes a few steps further with their offers of buy one-get two free or buy two-get 4 free. For instance, one vitamin I take is Calcium. The last time I ordered I bought 2 bottles of 1000 mg calcium with 500 mg of Vitamin D for $17.78, a good price by itself but, I got 4 bottles free, so that price was for 6 bottles! I found that unbelievable, yet it's true. We purchased our Vitamin E, Ginkgo and Omega 3 fish oil with the same deal and only paid 17 cents shipping.

How easy is it to navigate the website?

I don't do a lot of on-line shopping for some reason, mainly I find browsing through multitudes of pages annoying, but mainly I hate to pay shipping costs. Puritan Pride certainly has changed my mind about both those issues. Though I noticed their shipping deals vary so it is a good idea to get on their E-mail list to find out when the good offers on shipping and specials are going on.

The site is very easy to explore. When you go to their home page the items offered at special prices are featured boldly and the prices are simply hard to believe. If you are looking for something specific the search box really works well and takes you to exactly what you are interested in…even a new cutting edge item like the one I wanted a few weeks ago, Vitamin K2. This is a vitamin my hubby had heard would be good for me since it's for bone health and supposed to work wonders for those with osteoporosis. This one is bit more expensive but, with the buy 2 get 4 free, we got 6 bottles for $44.00. Not only that, but there is an explanation as to the benefits of this vitamin on the bottom of the page as there is for all the vitamins and minerals you might be interested in.

You can shop by brands and categories. They have nearly every manufacturer I can think of but on those more famous brands you don't get that buy one-get 2 bottles offer…though they do give you 30 to 50% off the price you would pay in a store.

Also on the left of the page they have what they call "bargain bin"…I just looked and found CoQ10, usually a very expensive nutrient, 60 soft gel bottle, buy one at 24.99 get 2 free…You can't beat that with a stick .

You will also find Hot New products, Customers Favorites, and Top New Products. Each link will take you to some incredible deals.

That sounds really good to me…I love the idea that all their products are made here in America and not outsourced or made in China.

The vitamins we have ordered all seem to be high quality. The Omega 3 fish oils have no odor just as they were advertised as well as easy to swallow, the vitamin E capsules have the same look as all the others I've taken from the higher end manufacturers. Even the Calcium capsules are easy to swallow even though a bit on the larger side…we have had no problem with anything we have ordered from them.

Placing an Order and Shipping

Searching for an item is so easy once you decide what you are looking for, and, with usually 2-5 pages of each product with varying quantity in each bottle or combinations of nutrients, finding what you are interested in is quite easy. Just click on the item and all sorts of information comes up about that product, all the ingredients listed and the prices… just add to your shopping cart. Once you are finished shopping just go to check-out and add the information they ask for, if there is a special deal it will come up then…if you have purchased from them before, the information is already there and check out is a breeze. You receive a receipt immediately in your e-mail and next day a notification about shipping. Then a notification of when it was shipped with a tracking number. We always received our orders within 5 days. Everything has always been packed carefully so we never had any breakage or returning to do, though they do say they guarantee everything with full refunds should you be unsatisfied...but, you will have to pay for return shipping if need be.

They do have a phone number you can call if you have a question, since they do sell by catalog… once my hubby called to ask a question, the operator was friendly and even gave him a better deal that had just come out that day on line which we had missed seeing. Not only that but we received free shipping.

All in all, I can say without hesitation that Puritan Pride has met our needs, providing good quality products, great deals and prices along with terrific customer service. Oh, and one more plus for them, once you buy something they send you catalogs...Handy if you want to check out all the products and special offers beforehand. A big Thumbs up and 5 stars .
