Buyer Beware

This is not a company I would recommend.

I ordered two Netgear RangeMax Next Wireless Routers. Their price for this router was the best. They had only one in a factory sealed box, so I purchased the second as a new router in "open box" condition. I expected to find a new router in both boxes, documentation intact. What arrived was one factory sealed Netgear wireless adapter and an open box Netgear router that had been installed and registered by someone else, had warranty information missing and not all of the parts required, some sticky fingerprints on documents, but thankfully wrapped in plastic. I sent an e-mail to Tech for Less immediately. Within a few hours I received an automated note from then requesting that I not leave a negative rating for them without talking to them first and suggesting that someone would get back to me to discuss the issue soon. Two days later I received an e-mail saying that someone would get in tough with me within 24 to 48 hours. Forty-eight hours later, I called the company. The resolution department "Tech Support" operates 9 to 5 while the sales department seems to be 24/7. A sales person recognized that I had a problem that they should solve and left post-it messages for the representative that had written to me in the first place. If he left these, she didn't return my call. I called again the following day but no luck having either call returned. I phoned Sales again and was told that, "You have to understand that we are a national company." I wonder if that means they can give bad customer service because they're messing up orders all over the country? I called again the following day and was told that I had been expidited to number 5 for a return call. Hmmmm. Then, I asked sales if they had any of these routers in stock and the answer was no. Finally, I told the company that I would like to return all that they had shipped me and a RA was issued within a few minutes.

Here's my concern...they shipped the wrong stuff, they did not have a way for a customer to bring the issue to their attention and have it resolved, one of the items was one that couldn't be used. The prices are great. If you want to use this company, I'd place the order by telephone during the week.

I've sent back both pieces. I'm waiting for a refund.
