I have purchased jewelry from Zales as well as it's other sister companies (Gordon's and Bailey Banks and Biddle) for several years now. Because you can only find these stores in the mall and I hate the mall, I was excited to find Zales online. Zales website is visually nice and easy to navigate. I like the "Hint, hint" email system where you can send a picture of the piece you would like to your significant other. There are pieces of jewelry for every budget on this website and quite a variety of styles. And when I had questions about their services or jewelry, I received prompt and helpful email responses from their online staff. In all honesty, I received better service from their online staff than I ever have from their mall staff. All in all, I enjoyed visiting this site.
Having said that, let me also say that I would be extremely hesitant to buy jewelry off of the Internet. It is very difficult to determine what quality you are getting from the pictures on the 'Net. I personally have never had a bad jewelry purchase online but I have been extremely lucky. I have seen purchases of inferior quality stones at inflated prices. While these purchases were not made at Zales, I still believe that the buyer should be cautious. Buy jewelry in person when possible. Every piece that is on the Zales site can be found in their store. If you find a piece that you like, print the picture or the stock number and go in to the store to actually inspect the piece.
