A Wise Guy's Awakening

The Bottom Line: The transformation of arrogant bully Crash Coogan is a terrific study in character development.
Review: Children's author Jerry Spinelli is a master of characterization and realistic dialog. He's proven that in many of his books, including his award winners "Maniac Maqee" and "Wringer." He does so again in "Crash."
