The 2005 Dodge Magnum is a 4-door, 5-passenger wagon, available in 5 trims, ranging from the SE to the RT AWD. The 2005 Dodge Magnum's competitors include the Ford Focus, the Saturn L300 Wagon, and the Volkswagen Passat. Upon introduction, the SE is equipped with a standard 2.7-liter, V6, 190-horsepower engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The RT AWD is equipped with a standard 5.7-liter, V8, 340-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The 2005 Dodge Magnum is all-new for 2005.

A wagon to lust for?

The Bottom Line: Too big, baaad, and brawny for my tastes, but an outstanding reinvention of the traditional American wagon (except for the all too old style interior).

The Bottom Line: I recommend the Magnum. You can't beat the combination of styling, gas mileage, safety, ride, cargo space and overall value.
