Product Description

 
For 2002, GMC has reintroduced the Envoy to compete in the mid-size SUV market. The all new Envoy is longer, taller, and wider than the GMC Jimmy it is replacing, which amounts to a smoother ride and more interior space. The new Vortec 4200 engine provides the Envoy with an ample 270 hp and 275 ft. lbs. of torque. In addition to a new, more angular bodystyle, and a redesigned rear suspension, the interior of the Envoy has been completely redone with new instruments and controls. Standard equipment includes GMs OnStar system, side-impact airbags, four wheel disc anti-lock brakes, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Optional upgrades include a Bose sound system, running boards, and power sunroof.

The Bottom Line: If you have not yet looked at the GMC Envoy because you've seen them for years, you may be surprised. Check it out but be prepared for an increased payment.

The Bottom Line: Wait until reliability has been well established for this new GMC model and think twice before purchasing a vehicle from General Motors (lack of customer care).
