The sensitive Beatle with the big brown eyes, Paul McCartney was arguably the biggest heartthrob in one of the most important pop bands of all time. Since the Beatles broke up, he has continued to compose and perform with bands like Wings in solo capacity. On LIVE AT THE CAVERN CLUB, Paul is filmed at the Cavern Club in his hometown -- Liverpool, England -- for the first time since 1963, when the Beatles played there. Filmed on December 14, 1999, this spectacular concert features performances of Beatles classics as well as McCartney's solo work. In addition, special guest appearances by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and Deep Purple's Ian Paice add significance to the live event.

Time-Traveling Beatle Rocks the Cavern

The Bottom Line: If you like good old-fashioned rock and roll, give this one a try. Just don't buy it expected loads of Beatles tunes or Floydian guitar work.
Review: On December 14, 1999, Paul McCartney returned to the Cavern Club in Liverpool. This time, however, he wasn't bobbing back and forth to the tunes that made the Beatles famous, but paying tribute to the 1950's rock songs that he grew up with.

The Bottom Line: Good for fans of bebop and Run Devil Run. If you are looking for Beatles tunes, look elsewhere.
