Is this the best they can do?

The Bottom Line: Get it if you can live with possible partial implementations, and don't mind fiddling around for a good while to get things working. Otherwise, try elsewhere.
Review: Having only tried one other universal, I can't say how well this one compares to the broader range, but I *can* comment based on its own merits.

BTW, the other remote I tried was the 5-device Jensen, which I quite liked in terms of...

Good, but not for SONY

The Bottom Line: If you want to control your SONY devices, especially your SONY receiver, don't buy it. Buy RCU-800 for your RCA and GE stuff.
