Endowed with the ability to communicate with spirits and adopt their supernatural fighting skills, 13-year-old shaman Yoh Asakura aspires to become the Shaman King by entering a grand tournament that occurs every 500 years. With the help of his best friend Morty and his girlfriend Ana, Yoh travels the world with his 600-year-old samurai spirit-partner Amidamaru fighting evil spirits and training for the tournament while meeting all kinds of interesting characters.
