Hats off to Seuss, but not to this story (entry in kurt_messick's "500" write-off)

The Bottom Line: This might be Dr. Seuss' least satisfying work. Apparently no one reviewed it on Epinions before now because no one wanted to write something bad about something by him.
Review: A masked executioner stands ready to chop off a boy's head. But a technicality prevents the beheading and another way must be found to kill the kid. So the decision is made to push the victim from the top of a castle tower. And just as he did...

Seuss' Delightful Fairy Tale

The Bottom Line: Although quite different from other Seuss books I quite enjoy Bartholomew. Don't expect a rhyming good time but rather a slightly off kilter fairy tale.
Review: Say the name Dr. Seuss and people think of cats with big red and white striped top hats, north going zaxes and south going zaxes staring at each other as a city grows around them, sam and oddly colored eggs and ham, or a zillion other delightfully...

You'd Think Removing a Hat Would be Easy

The Bottom Line: While not your usual Seuss book, there is still much to enjoy about this tale.
Review: Dr. Seuss is best known for his imaginative children's books that combine great illustrations with rhyme and interesting characters. This book, from very early in his career, is different in many ways but still fits with his legacy.
