Before he was a Big Star, Alex Chilton was a Box Top

The Bottom Line: Alex Chilton sang the AM radio classics "The Letter," "Soul Deep" and "Cry Like A Baby" while with The Box Tops.
Review: "Give me a ticket for an aeroplane / ain't got time to take a fast train / lonely days are gone / I'm a goin' home / my baby just wrote me a letter..."

It's hard to believe Alex Chilton was all of 16 when he sang "The Letter" as lead...
