The Bottom Line: There's no murder in this detective story, only a sensuously slow telling of the lives of people who haven't forgotten their connection to the world.

Review: The author writes a wonderful African story. But, he feels the need to bring the reader up to speed in the beginning of the book, which is only 186 pages long - and I feel this wastes time. However, because there is no subtitle to tell you which...
