Product Description

A presidential assassination attempt is told from multiple points of view in Pete Travis's directorial debut, VANTAGE POINT. U.S. president Ashton (William Hurt) is in Salamanca, Spain (though much of the film was actually shot in Mexico), to announce plans for a major global summit on terrorism. But as he stands behind the podium in front of an adoring crowd (with protesters blocked off from the stage), he is shot twice, followed shortly by a small explosion and then a massive blast. Secret Service Agents Barnes (Dennis Quaid), Taylor (Matthew Fox), and Holden (Richard T. Jones) immediately jump into action, trying to find the terrorists responsible amid all the chaos. The thriller first shows the events through the eyes of television news producer Rex Brooks (Sigourney Weaver), and then the film rewinds, replaying the action from a different point of view. Vantage Point was like Groundhog Day on Steroids!

Date of Review:  Mar 2, 2008
The Bottom Line: Vantage Point is an interesting and intense film with lots and lots of action too.
Review: I love going to the movies on the weekend and seeing all kinds of different movies. The one that I saw today was very different, and yet I liked it too.

Vantage Point was a bit like Groundhog Day on steroids! We kept seeing the same few...

Dennis Quaid, Sigourney Weaver, and William Hurt Are Barely in Vantage Point

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2008
The Bottom Line: Vantage Point had a unique concept, but the execution really didn't work well.
Review: I thought that the previews for Vantage Point made it look like an interesting movie. It did have a somewhat unique idea for the plot, but I don't feel like the execution of that idea really worked.

I am only going to mention a few things...

From My Vantage Point I Saw Great Action And Great Stretches Of The Imagination

Date of Review:  Feb 23, 2008
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend Vantage Point as an action filled story with an interesting twist and great special effects.
Review: I would like to start by saying that I have been waiting patiently for this movie to debut. The previews for this film captivated my interest. This film was great on the big screen and should translate okay to DVD. So, how did this movie stack up to...

Blu-Ray Disc Edition of Vantage Point starring Dennis Quaid.
4/5 stars
This was a great movie. The all-star cast includes Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox, William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver and Forrest Whitaker. The direction of the film is brilliant and leaves you on the end of your seat until the final vantage point is revealed. Pros: Great Acting, Great Directing, Innovative New Concept Cons: Reveal more to the audience, Ending was slightly guessable
