A nice reproduction of the original
Pros:
no technical glitches
Cons:
cast is not as good as the B-way cast (IMO, of course)
The Bottom Line:
A nice CD, but nothing can compare to the Broadway revival in 2007. If you have not heard either one, get the 2007 Broadway revival soundtrack.

Author's Review
First off, I must start by saying that I loved both the London production and the more recent 2007 production on Broadway in New York City.
But this review is about the Soundtrack, not the show, so let's move onward. There really isn't that much to say about it. The sound is great and I have not noticed any technical glitches (even with my incessant listening). One thing to be ware of is that it does utilize gap-less playback on certain songs, so if your mp3 player doesn't support gap-less playback, you could have to deal with some, albeit minor, annoyances. However, this is not a manufacturing defect, and is only a result of individual people's equipment not being able to perform up to the level that this cd was manufactured. And like I said before, it is only a minor annoyance.
This cd is a very good mix of the musical numbers of the show, it offers (In my opinion) the best mix of talking vs. singing vs. orchestration that was possible to do with this show, considering the fact that the show has a lot of talking during musical numbers. However, this talking is often necessary to provide the listener with an idea of what occurring during the song, and ultimately the whole show.
However, I can not give this show five stars simply because I do like the Broadway cast (and production) more than I do this one, so I would have to rate that one higher than I do this one, so I can only give it 4 stars. But if I could I would give the B-way one 6 stars and this 5. Unfortunately, this type of rating system does not exist.
