Vol.No.13 January 4-18, 1962 as I read the cover of this
album. The beatles featuring Tony Sheridan. Well is this a
some kind of a joke to me well after listing to it and playing I know the beatles this is not there music. And are
did I miss something no I had come found some history.
Well I was amazed by it the strangce sound was I heard as I play it I was thinking what is this who is tony sheridan?
Well I new that the frist beatles had a member that went into art and die of something later in the beginning but the question that made me curious was still who was tony Sheridan. This went down into my mind was he a beatle
Or just was on the album for some reason other then what?
Well didn,t take time do any kind of reseach on it. I just layed it down and went on with my life. Until this day when about the blues album being on here. So I thought I would take this time and write out a bit on this subject and see what turns up.
This alot of history it starts out with this.
I frist met the beatles in hamburg in 1961 when I was playing in a new club around the corner from the reeperbann.
The beatles were working at a place just down the road, as I later found out,and every night when they were through they used to come up watch us. I rememer noticing them the frist time they came. They wore cowboy boots, leather jackets
and -at that time-contemporary haircuts.
Then it goes on to say he got to know them. And enjoyed there visits. They gradually got know each other. They talked mostly about music and musicians, though I soon realixed that they could converse on any subject intelligenty.
Then the story goes on to say. After that they went back to liverpool to play at the cavern, I think but then returned to hamburg some time later when I at the top ten club on
reeperbahn. I was without a band at that time, and so we got together. They back me in my solo numbers, and I played guitar with them when they did there spots. We all shared a roomtogether, too, over the top ten club on the reeperbahn.
It really was attic with bunk beds in two tiers! Those
were great days.
Later on one night Bert kaempfert came into the top ten,
introduced himself as an A$R man and record producer,
and asked if we would like to record for Polydor.
We said O.K., and the result of the first recording session
was "My Bonnie", as a single release sold quite well in
Germany, nothing fantastic happened at that time.
Well this must be really one part of a lost puzzle for me.
Why didn,t the blue album put the single on it?
Well back to this opinon of the blues well this was the blues of the band and I think they love to live and work.
