Excellent paper weight

You would think that in this "digital" age, a digital answering machine would be just the thing to have. You would be wrong in this case. If this machine is the best that AT&T has to offer, then it's time to log onto EBay to see if you can find a good, old-fashioned (i.e. reliable and audible) answering machine that uses magnetic tape. The sound quality on this machine is sub-standard for digital and messages from people using cell phones may be completely garbled in some cases. Replaying a message after its initial playback is also relatively difficult (you should keep a pencil handy during playback - the first run through may also be the last...).
