A Beautiful Mind - The TRUE Story of John Nash

Date of Review:  May 28, 2002
The Bottom Line: I loved this book, but I certainly cannot call it light reading. This is the true story of Nash's life - not Hollywood's version.
Review: I was drawn to purchase A Beautiful Mind: The Life of Mathematical Genius and Nobel Laureate John Nash by Sylvia Nasar because I was utterly fascinated by the movie. I was hoping the book would clear up a few points of confusion I had, and give me...

A Beautiful Mind, A Difficult Book, A Rewarding Read

Date of Review:  Oct 25, 2002

Review: Even though I picked A Beautiful Mind: The Life of Mathematical Genius and Novel Laureate John Nash the day after I saw the film, I must warn the reader: I'm a total glutton for genius stories. This purchase would have been done movie or no movie...

the unvarnished and unhollywood version

Date of Review:  Sep 26, 2003
The Bottom Line: Very good book....3 dimensional...covers a lot of territory and not overly long....fast read
Review: The book and the movie are two different works of art…I liked the movie very much when I saw it and was fascinated by John Nash's life. However, reading the book has provided so much more detail, which it always does!

Although this is...

Painful to Read - See the Movie Instead!

Date of Review:  Dec 1, 2005
Review: I had seen A Beautiful Mind, the movie, and I absolutely loved it! Since the book is usually better than the movie, I decided to read the book. This was one book I could not get into. Don't get me wrong, I did read the entire thing but it was...
