Marvel and Activision deliver the goods.

I purchased Marvel Ultimate Alliance (further to be described as MUA), for my son this Christmas. My son is nine years old and I am thirty five. I grew up on Atari, Nintento, and Sega Genesis. I have found some of the more current games seem abit over my head when it comes to gameplay. Not so with MUA. This is a game that my son and myself enjoy very much. The gameplay is simple and straight forward and it has a very good storyline. The vast amount of characters that you can choose from is incredible.

The game lets you choose four super heroes to go to battle for you against Dr. Doom and his minions. Some of the characters that you can be are as follows.

Mr. Fantastic

The game is great just in the fact of mixing and matching heroes to form a great team.

The graphics are really good and the cinema shots between scenes are absolutely wonderfully put together. You can't wait to beat a level just to watch the next cinema shot.

We have only gotten about halfway through the game so far and it has to be the best game that my son and I have played together in the last couple of years.

You do not have to be a rocket scientist to learn the controls for this game. Even if you don't feel like learning every move, you can get by for quite a long time just by simply mashing buttons. It helps to have a son that is quite proficient at PS2 to be your partner though.

The game isn't simply about pulverizing the enemy though. Throughout the game you can collect tokens that when accumulating enough of, you can purchase upgrades for your heroes to make them stronger. There are also some mental aspects of the game that you have to figure out before you can advance beyond a certain point. I am better at that and my son just loves to smash the bad guys.

Each character has four different costumes you can chose from, which keeps things lively.

All in all MUA is well worth every penny of the $39.99 I paid for it.
