Author's Review
Leave it to American McGee to take a beloved classic and turn it on its ear! Thank you, Mr. McGee. You've made the world a better place.
In this ingeniously twisted new vision, Alice finds that something has gone terribly wrong in Wonderland. It seems that a mysterious Red Queen has taken control of the area and its people, throwing them into complete and utter insanity. So Alice must somehow search for a way to restore order and peace before her own sanity drifts off into oblivion. Along her journey, she encounters a variety of familiar faces and lands, many of which are not quite so familiar after all. And over time, she encounters a plethora of personal demons hell-bent on destroying her life forever. Just who exactly is the the Red Queen? How and why does she exist? And most importantly, what of all the references to a certain Rutledge's Asylum?
American McGee's Alice is blessed with a fantastic cast of characters and a genuinely compelling story line. In these two gifts lie the motivation to complete Alice's mission and save Wonderland. Likewise, the game play, graphics, and attention to detail are phenomenal. They draw you into the heart of the nightmare with the greatest of ease. Don't expect anything less than an all-out experience.
Without a doubt, this is one of the best things to ever happen to Lewis Carroll's Wonderland, and will hopefully be remembered as one of the best things to ever happen to gaming as well! My advice: take the risk and discover what all the madness is truly about. You'll soon be thanking Mr. McGee yourself.
