Funny or Just plain gross?

Pros: Funny, good acting

The Bottom Line: If you want a funny movie, great acting, and can handle a few gross scenes then you have found the prefect movie.

Before giving my opinion on this movie I want to warn all the parents out there that this movie contains many sexual images and words. It should not be watched by a child. If you don't like vulgarity or have a weak stomach this isn't the movie for you.

If you can find humor in a really disgusting situation then you just might like this movie. I really think it is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I laughed until my sides hurt the first time I saw it. I continue to watch it and laugh because it is funny. There are a few parts during the movie that I could do without, for example the very gross beer drinking in the bedroom. However, for the most part the movie is funny.

The plot is a little shallow. The story is about four high school friends who are about to graduate. They are all virgins and the plan is to become men on prom night. The only thing is they have to actually have dates. They try everything they can to end up with the perfect girl in the end so that they can have that special night.

One of the funniest parts of the movie is when Jim (played by Jason Biggs) dances to impress a girl who is at his house. I also love all the scenes where Jim's father tries to talk to him about sex, because their discussion is so awkward it makes for a very funny situation.

In the end we learn a bit about life as a teen age boy. The movie puts a new light on sexual relationships and how we look at them.

The actors are great. Jason Biggs plays Jim who is always nervous around girls and has some issues with premature ejaculation. Chris Klein is Oz who shows a sensitive side. Eddie Kaye Thomas is Finch who seems to be a little uptight about using the school's toilets but over comes that fear. Thomas Ian Nicholas plays Kevin the only one who has a girl friend. The rest of the supporting cast does an excellent job as well. If it weren't for the excellent acting in this movie the plot might not hold up, but with the acting skills of these wonderful young people a wonderful movie is developed.
