The best bang for your buck
Date of Review: Dec 12, 2008
I started at one of the Macintosh Classic in the early 90's, moved to the iMac DV in the late 90's, and eventually went mobile with an iBook G4. After a while, my need for something newer, and faster with more capabilities arose. That is where the iBook aluminum comes in.
This laptop was midrange price as far as Apple laptops go. I purchased the 2.4GHZ model for $1,600. It was worth every penny.
The initial problem I had when purchasing the laptop was that the trackpad was glitchy. It was freeze at points (not work at all) or dart around when I tried to use it. Apple sent out a software fix for this and I've had no problems since.
The second problem I had was that it was not going to sleep correctly when closed. It would continue to try to 'awake itself' while closed. This heated up the computer, wasted battery, and made my laptop very angry.
Again, Apple put out a software fix and I've had no additional problems.
It works seemlessly, it's gorgeous, and if you're in the market for a new laptop I would highly recommend this one.
