Slim and trim and lightweight

We purchased this DVD player from Costco for $160.00 with an excellent warranty. We could have purchased another kind at a cheaper price but then you don’t have the Costco warranty. I have had to use on other items and all we did is take the item back with no receipt and they gave us store credit. They had everything in the computer. I wish all stores worked this way.

This model came with all accessories that you would want included are 2 sets of folding headsets. The carrying bag it comes with is very nice because it will hold all the accessories and then some. The rechargeable battery does a sufficient job If charged it was able to play a whole movie on one charge. For the best results I found out that you could leave in plugged in while you are driving and this helps so that when you stop your battery is all charged up and you do not have to start all over when you are watching a movie. I found it very handy to keep the manual inside the case tucked away nice and neat for later use. It also comes with a DC power adapter and a AC to DC power adapter. Plus a audio video adapter cable which I have not had to use yet. They did give a remote control for this unit and also I do not see a need for this because you are usually to close to use it. What makes it especially nice is the 10.2" screen. I have another model and it has a smaller screen. The picture on this model is so clear it is like watching it at a small theater.

There is a really nice addition to this new unit and that is the fact that you can put a camera disc in and look at your pictures instead of waiting till you get home to downloading them to your computer. Also you can use a thumb drive digital camera with jpeg or mp3 files. There is an usb spot to plug a cable into. As usual though the usb cable does not come with the unit.

With the AV cables you can connect it to a video camera or a TV set. There are two spots for two sets of headphones so that more than one person at a time can view and watch without disturbing the driver. We were trying to decide whether or not to buy a dual setup for the car or just buy another single unit. We chose the single unit. We thought we would get a greater benefit out of it. Other than all the usual benefits that all portable DVD players this one has the addition of playing your sd disc and the thumb drive. Plus the USB cable connection. It also comes with a very thin remote control which I think you can do without because you are really to close and you don’t need it. In addition it is very thin and you will be misplacing it often.

There are a few things you should be very careful with and that is when you first use this device make sure that it is turned off before you plug it into the car accessory. Then it is very important that you do not use any sprays or liquids to clean this with. Just use a very lightly damp rag to wipe down the outside of the case only. The other thing that you should keep in mind is if you think you are a computer wizard or something do not attempt to open this unit up unless you have the proper training. There is the risk of electrical shock or laser radiation.

The specs. For this unit are DVD/CD/MP3 discs are compatible. The system signal is NTSC, the panel size is 10.2" and size does make a difference. The frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 KHz. The video output is 1 Vp-p/75 ohm, unbalanced. The audio output is 1.4 vms / 10kohm and the audio s/n more than 60 db. The dynamic range are more than 85 db. The laser semiconductor laser, wave length is 650 nm/795 nm. The power source DC 9-12V and the power consumption is 12W. The best operating temp. should be between 41 - 95degrees. It does not weigh very much only 2.23 lbs. The width is 9.48" x depth 6.37" x height 1.57". Also the battery type is Li-polymer. This battery does not have a memory so it is safe to recharge the battery if it is not fully charged or used all the way down. Each full charge take up to 5 hours and will provide 2.5 hours of play time. During the recharge the red led light will stay on. Once fully charged the light will turn off. You can not recharge this unit through the car you have to use an electrical ac power source to do this, plus the unit has to be properly turned off to do this.

We use this on long trips which comes in very handy for the kids. And it will also give you a lot of peace and quiet during your drive. It is also very nice to let the kids use it at home if you don't want them ruining you tv shows. You can just send them out of the room so that you can still enjoy your shows. Plus you can monitor what they are watching.

I would highly recommend this to all families that will need the use of the latest state of the art DVD player at a reasonable price.
