Author's Review
I purchased a 1999 M3 convertible sight unseen on eBay this Spring. My son and I flew to Miami (from Maryland) and the purchaser met us at the airport with the car. Away we went. I was a bit concerned that the car had 95,000 miles on it, but the Seller was very thorough in his descriptions and pictures and after reading about the M3 driving experience I couldn't resist the opportunity. The drive home to Maryland from Florida was an experience that we will never forget. Four months and 7,000 miles later I have no regrets. This is indeed the PERFECT Driving Machine. The car starts and runs like new, the engine pulls in every gear like a freight train, the gas mileage is superb given the car's capabilities. The best part is you can put three passengers in this vehicle very comfortably. The handling characteristics of this car are truly beyond description. Weaving in and out of highway traffic at 90MPH is totally natural and the really odd thing is that people seem to expect it. If I drove my Cadillac SRX through traffic the way I drive the M3 people would think I was a fool. In the BMW no one even bats an eye. It is uncanny. The car is truly an extension of your body. I have had three BMW's before. Two 5 Series and a 740iL. They are all special in their own right but none can hold a candle to the thrill of driving the M3 Convertible. This car is like a human being. It constantly whispers to you that if you take care of me, I will deliver to you.
