smells gorgeous, but a bit more impressed by the bottle than the scent

Although, I'm a girl who loves shopping, I'm not a lots-of-makeup, dyed-hair, manicured-nails type of girlie-girl and one day while reluctantly strolling through Ulta with my sister, I decided to go around and test perfumes. I'm always looking out for new, delicious smells to spray on myself, so this was an exciting endeavor. One particular perfume caught my eye was the new Betsey Johnson perfume. The bottle is exquisite. It's an hour-glass shaped bottle, slightly smaller near the bottom and more voluptuous near the top. What really makes it lovely, though, is the art-deco inspired bright pink topper. It's so unique compared to other bland bottles of perfume, which makes it very eye-catching.

Anyway, cutting to the chase, it smells pretty delicious. It's kind of a mix of flowers and fruits with a powdery scent. A bit strong, but also beautiful. I liked it better once it settled into my skin than it being sprayed straight out of the bottle. It's one of those perfumes that doesn't fade; you can smell it on you the entire day you wear it. It's not necessarily subtle, but Betsey-Johnson-like people usually don't go for subtle; they go for attention-getting. Probably more appropriate for a night out, than working a day job. This is a definitely bold perfume, not for the shy.

At approximately $55 at most stores, I did not purchase this perfume, but I would definitely want to give or receive it as a gift. It's a lovely scent, definitely geared for the abstract personality. Don't get this if you're into smelling like everyone else.
