A Realty Check for America

I do not often agree all the time with what Mr. O’Reilly has to say but I have to agree a hundred percent with what he states in this book. He starts off the book thirteen years from now 2030. Parents have no right to discipline their kids; in fact kids have more rights that the parents do. High school diplomas are just given away, in fact that students do not have to meet any standards or follow any standard curriculum, and yes that means none of the three R’s. Although you may think that this may be a little far fetched, this may be closer to a possible realty than you think.


Mr. O’Reilly divides the culture war into two sides, the traditionalist, those who believe in the traditional American values and the SP’s or Secular Progressive movement, not to be confused with the conservatives / liberals , those who are determined to under mind American values. Some people may deny that there is a culture war or some are oblivious to its existence. Though out the book Mr. O’Reilly profiles may different secular progressives and there roles in the American culture war.

In this review I will give to brief examples of the American culture war that Mr. O’Reilly discusses in his book, the war on Christmas, and the culture war surrounding kids in America. We see it every year when the holidays roll around, when controversies over the use of “Christmas break” and “Christmas Trees”. We seen it when companies prohibit employees from saying “Merry Christmas” or using stop using “Merry Christmas in there ad’s. It is not only the religious symbols of Christmas that is being attacked but even the non- religious ones such as Santa Clause are being attacked as well. Some people may deny that there is a war on Christmas, but when Christmas Break is changed to winter break and Christmas Trees are being turned into Holiday Trees, ect.. the war on Christmas is something that is hard to take notice.

The other battle in the culture war is the battle for our kids. This is a battled that encompasses many fronts, the battle to educate, the battled to discipline and the battled to keep our children safe from child predators. Some of the topics that Mr. O’Reilly addresses in this section are the education and discipline practices in public vs. private schools, discipline and traditional values, and how those who pray on innocent children are viewed as needing treatment for an illness instead of a criminal committing a crime. He also goes into how the ACLU supported the NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association), when they where sued by a family who son was murdered and assaulted by a man who was motivated by the NAMBLA literature to commit this horrible crime.

This book is an eye opener for Americans everywhere. The really that Mr. O’Reilly presents in the opening chapter of this book could be a fighting realty if Americans do not realize the battle that is going on today to destroy American culture.
