Great book

Date of Review:  Jan 8, 2004
Review: This was a great book. Not only was it entertaining, but once I was done, I felt like I had actually learned something. I went right out and bought Dan Brown's previous book, Angels and Demons. I can't wait til he puts out his new book.

Interesting

Date of Review:  Jun 17, 2004
Review: The details of the code are the fascinating thing about the book.

The story is so-so.

The characters state some things as fact that are rather controversial.

Exposition of details is sometimes obtrusive. Understandable,...

Excellent Book for those with an open mind

Date of Review:  Jan 20, 2005
Review: As an avid reader of many different book genres, I find the writing of Dan Brown and the Da Vinci Code in particular to be very open minded. I look forward to reading other books as soon as they are released.

What's Good about it?

The Da Vinci Code is Solid from Start to Finish

Date of Review:  Mar 9, 2004
The Bottom Line: I loved this book from start to finish. I think everyone else will, too. Buy it.
Review: Plot Summary: This book is at first about simply a murder mystery in which Robert Langdon, a symbologist in Paris for a conference, is suspected by Bezu Fache, the Paris chief of police. Langdon is then kidnapped/rescued by the murder victim's grand...

Thought Provoking Book

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2005
Review: I really enjoyed this book because it made me think about things. I know some people say that this book is all fiction and that none of it is true but I truly believe most of it has some truth. If you like thought provoking books, you will love this...

Simple reading for simple minds

Date of Review:  Apr 1, 2004
Review: The characters solve numerous codes in one night that would take the CIA months break. Completely unrealistic. The characters are shallow and static at best. The Biblical plot is such a stretch that even knowing it is fiction makes it hard to read...

The Da Vinci Code: a puzzle within an enigma surrounded by controversy

Date of Review:  May 9, 2005
The Bottom Line: Read it to see what all the fuss is about. Just remember it's a novel, for crying out loud.
Review: The controversy surrounding this book has been nothing short of astounding. The fact that the Roman Catholic Church has taken the unprecedented step of speaking out against it has only made certain that it remained in the Top 10 list (and, of...

Brown's Da Vinci code: Mystery and more!

Date of Review:  May 10, 2005
Review: It's a thriller! There's nothing better than mystery based on shreds of history. While we can't call it historical fiction since so many of the point's Brown uses in this book are debated by historians and literary scholars as possible fact, we can...

Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code: The Puzzle as FX

The Bottom Line: Dan Brown brings to the page his version of Industrial Light and Magic. Read The Da Vinci Code for special effects, not the plot.

An extraordinary novel that easily lives up to all the hype!

Date of Review:  Apr 8, 2006
The Bottom Line: If for no other reason than to be able to reach your own informed opinion, be sure to read this phenomenal best-seller!
Review: To suggest that The Da Vinci Code is a modern day publishing phenomenon is the grand champion of understatements! There can hardly be a reader of any age, nationality, or reading persuasion who is not aware of a rough plot outline which is at once...
