Wonderful Children's Reading

If you are having trouble getting your younger children to read, then be sure to pick up a copy of this book. It is suitable for children as young as 7 or 8 years old. They will be fascinated by Peter's problems with his younger brother Fudge and will relate to his experiences if they have siblings. One incident involves Peter's dilemma when Fudge, not so accidentally, swallows his pet turtle. Each chapter paints a vivid picture for the reader and deals with a new set of difficulties.

It is so important that children become excited about reading at an early age. Not only does it improve vocabulary skills, but it helps to increase scores on reading comprehension tests and really boosts self-esteem. This book also has two sequels that are equally entertaining. All of Blume's books are great, but this series is good for the youngest of readers.
