We've gone on a bear hunt!

If your children are anything like mine, then you are looking for books which have excitement and movements to do along while reading. If this is true, your children will LOVE this book! We're Going on a Bear Hunt takes the children through an adventure while looking for the bear. One of the great things about this book is the repeated phrases. For example, it starts off like this:

We're going on a bear hunt. We're going to catch a big one. What a beautiful daY! We're not scared!

Oh-oh! Grass! Long, wavy grass. We can't go over it. We can't go under it. Oh No! We've got to go through it!

After they go through the grass, the next page will give the sounds it makes to go through the grass and as you say them, you can do the movements! Right after going through the grass, the first paragraph repeats itself and then they come to yet another obstacle. Each obstacle repeats itself as well, only it's a different obstacle with different sounds.

This book is FULL of action and once you learn the movements or make your own up, the kids will want this book repeated over and over. At the end of the book, they run into the bear and go backwards through all the obstacles they just came through. When reading it fast and doing the movements, you and your children can get a great workout!

We're Going on a Bear Hunt does come in board book form, which is what we have, so if your younger children enjoy books, you don't have to worry about the pages being ripped out. While purchasing this one, I didn't see any paperback versions, however I'm sure they do have them. If not, then the board book is fine for the older kids as well :)
