A cocoon of safety

I got into a minor accident with the Decathalons and since the insurance covers new carseats, I chose the Frontiers for my 3 year old twins.

I wouldn't use the Frontiers with babies that need the cosy padding, but its perfect for my average-sized 3 year olds who are loving the cup holders.

The seat does not sit as high as convertible carseats, which allows my kids to climb in easier. This also means that the seat sits lower and the kids will have to grow another 3 inches in the torso to see out of the window as well as when riding in the higher-profiled Decathalon. ON the good side of this fact, more of the structure of the door protects their bodies in a t-bone accident.

The seat was easy to install, especially when you pay attention to the directions for tightening the LATCH system.

The Frontier is big, heavy, and gives me feeling of assurance that my kids are safe. The best part about the Frontier is that the head protection or "True side impact" protection is a padded hard shell which adjusts in height without moving the kid out of the chair. From the side view, you can't see the kids' skull. So in case of a roll over accident, the seat would act as a protective shell. The kids haven't complained about being able to not see....yet.
