Are you ready for some sweet ear candy? Jack Johnsons Brushfire Fairytales, will fill your ears with a sweet tune you will be singing for days. I fully recommend Jack Johnsons Brushfire Fairytales for all hearts and minds. It is one of those cds you can let play over and over again. His smooth, passive voice creates a peaceful continuous mood, which is great for flow of consciousness. I will often listen to it while driving, or writing a paper.
Jack Johnson grew up on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii and started messing around with the guitar at the age of 14 and has been an acoustic genius ever since. He writes all of his own music and performs all over the United States and Europe. Other band members include: Adam Topol on the drums and Merlo on the Bass. The sound is very laid back and they will often jam out at live concerts. Jack Johnson plays the guitar, piano, and does vocals, a master of acoustic. Some amazing songs found on the cd are:
Inaudible Melodies- expressing the importance of taking more time for life, Slow down everyone, youre moving to fast, frames cant catch you when youre moving like that. Has a lively beat.
Middle Man- relays the morals of mankind in certain situations and explains the importance of friendship.
Flake- reverberates how nobody likes to be let down. It is almost human nature to let down the ones we love and so we have to change sometimes, but we hope to change for the better. Ben Harper accompanies with the slide guitar in this song.
Bubble Toes- He reminds is to take a moment and see what is right in front of us and to go with flow of life. This is upbeat and will put a smile on your face.
The News- conveys the monotonic voice for everything it covers, the lack of emotion and sympathy for those lost. He refers the news as lullabies. The song is very relaxing and almost sad.
Losing Hope- relates to our ever-changing lives. Losing hope is easy, when your only friend is gone, and every time you look around it just seems to change. The words seem perfect for my sixth move in three years.
There are 13 tracks on and I swear every one of them was my favorite at one point and no matter what my mood his music always brings a calm to my soul.
Jack Johnson also has various other cds out and they are just as remarkable. They are titled: On and On, and In-between Dreams. He also contributed music to Thicker than Water, found on his own surf documentary. He has a passion for surfing and has been an avid surfer since a young age. He often performs with best friend, Ben Harper. He has also toured with G. Love & Special Sauce, and Donavon Frankenrieter performing songs with them as well. If you enjoy this cd I greatly urge you to listen to his other cds and performances with the artists previously mentioned.
