Canon PIXMA™iP1700 InkJet Photo Printer

I've owned this for about 6 months and use it regularly. Most of the reviews cite the absence of a tray as the biggest weakness of this printer but I didn't find it so. Not that there aren't weaknesses, at least in my unit. It seems to take forever to build up a head of steam once the "print" button is clicked. After the first few times it was used, it ignored the level of ink left in the cartridges and continued to indicate "empty," as it still does, no matter if the cartridges have just been replaced. And it will not print two jobs in a row. After each job, the printer stops and signals that the paper loader is empty, which it is not. So the paper must be taken out, tapped, and reinserted with each job. I take that for granted now and do it automatically as part of the printing process. I find no fault in the printed pages themselves. And the price certainly doesn't present much of an obstacle. I'd advise any buyer to expect minor inconveniences though.
