Pros:
Slim design, comes with good picture software (probably because you'll need them...)
Cons:
Really bad quality, grainy and off-colour scans, takes a long time to scan, screeeeeech,...
The Bottom Line:
Steer clear of this one. Bad quality, grainy, off-colour scans that take a long time to scan - along with an interesting errr-errrrrr-screeech sound when scanning! It's already been returned.

Author's Review
I wish I would have had this review when we hurriedly had bought a scanner because our previous HP ScanJet 4200c died. It's already been returned - 3 hours after the purchase!
We figured that the Canon name wouldn't steer us wrong - we were so wrong. It was easy enough to set up - like other reviews have said there is only one USB cord and no power cord. Apparently a 1.1 USB cord should have been a sign to run away but we didn't know! We installed the 6 (count 'em 6!) software programs on the CD and then waited for a great little scan.
It took a while to figure out which of the software programs was supposed to be used for the scan but we got there - our last one you just clicked the scan/copy/email button and it brought you to the same type of screen. My husband and I listened to the errr-errr-screech sound of the very long scan and looked at each other with worry. Then... we saw the scan quality and we both let out a "ohhhh". Not good. Grainy, poor quality, looking like it was too bright/overexposed and off-colour. We tried upping it to a 600 dpi and listened to more screeching. The scan was no better. Yuk!
Granted - they provided us picture software to try and fix all these problems but who wants to do that? I would rather a good quality scan the first time.
We packed it up and have already returned it. Not worth it - steer clear!
